Light EFX-16HC

Provides model railroad on-layout lighting effects for 16 Just Plug®-compatible outputs. Each output is highly programmable through either a DCC (Digital Command Control) or LCC (Layout Command Control) connection. Using LCC to configure the Light EFX-16 will enable substantially more capabilities than configuring with DCC. Once configured, the board can operate via DCC or LCC, or standalone with a DC or AC power input (e.g. our #WT12DC2). Just Plug® is a Registered Trademark of Woodland Scenics. This is the "High Current" version of the Light EFX-16 and you MUST use resistors when connecting LEDs!!! Just Plug® lights include a resistor in the Linker Plug cable assembly. We have included eight 1K ohm resistors in the package for use with LED lights which don't include resistors.

Feature highlights include:

  • Up to 250mA provided on each output; maximum of 1.8A per board
  • LEDs MUST use resistors! Eight 1K ohm resistors are included.
  • Each output has independent configuration for:
    • >30 different lighting effects such as on/off, blinking, “fire”, pulsing, fluorescent tube sputtering/flickering, welder, fusee, random on/off and more!
    • Brightness
    • Trigger via external switch, DCC switch command, LCC Event ID, or LCC fast clock time on/off
  • Group outputs together for complex effects (e.g. traffic signals, TV, welder)
  • Two RJ-45 jacks for connecting to the LCC bus; board can provide power TO the LCC bus when using a suitable power source but cannot draw power FROM the LCC bus.
  • RECOMMENDED: Optional input board (#LEIB) for connecting pushbutton or toggle switches to trigger the outputs
  • RECOMMENDED: Optional output test board (#LEOTB) with different colored LEDs - one board connects to either outputs 1-8 or 9-16
  • RECOMMENDED: Additional Just Plug-compatible cables (#JPC4) to connect your own LEDs
  • RECOMMENDED: Optional output adapter board with 10-pin connector (#LEOAC) 
  • RECOMMENDED: Optional output adapter board with screw terminals (#LEOAS) 
  • RECOMMENDED: Optional relay board (#LERB) for simple on/off handling of heavier loads (e.g. electroluminescent signs, sound modules)
